Ruby Montes

Ruby Montes is the Managing Partner of Heiress Law, a boutique estate planning, probate, and elder law firm proudly serving the Tampa Bay area, as well as the rest of Florida and New York.

With over 20 years of legal experience in these areas of law, Ruby is deeply committed to helping individuals and families navigate the legal complexities of life planning with compassion and clarity.

A Latina originally from New York, Ruby is licensed to practice law in both Florida and New York. Her career has been defined by advocacy, cultural competence, and a steadfast dedication to empowering her community. Ruby works closely with a diverse range of clients, including LGBTQ+ individuals, international families, foreign investors, blended families, and individuals with special needs, ensuring their unique legal needs are met with dignity and respect.

Ruby began her legal journey practicing law in New York City. After relocating to Florida, Ruby founded Wake Law in 2016. In a strategic move to amplify her impact, she later merged her firm with Skyers Law Group, forming Heiress Law—a powerful partnership designed to expand reach and accessibility for underserved communities across Florida and New York.

In addition to her legal practice, Ruby has long been an active force in community leadership. She has served on the Board of Directors for multiple nonprofit and civic organizations, and is a co-founder and the first Vice President of the Tampa Bay Latin Chamber of Commerce. 

Her passion for giving back also extends to the next generation of legal professionals: she is a sought-after consultant and mentor for aspiring estate planning attorneys, sharing her knowledge and experience to build a stronger, more inclusive future in the field.
